The lifespan of your filter greatly depends on the quality of the water you filter through it. The more contaminated the water, the shorter the life of the filter. I’ve had my Brita bottle for over half a year and I love it! I’ve been lucky to not have many of the problems that others have had (cap breaking, suction, mold). The filter works and the water definitely tastes better. I’ve dropped my bottle on concrete before and there were only minor scratches so I would say it’s pretty durable. The bottle does leak when it’s tipped over, but it’s not a problem for me because I place the bottle on the side of my backpack in the water bottle slot.
Tip: I wash the bottle with dish soap often and clean the inside of the mouth piece with an alcohol-soaked cotton swab so mold doesn’t grow inside of it.
